An investigation into Finances and Management challenges of private secondary schools in Mbale district
Abstract
This report is on a study that aimed at investigating into the finances and management challenges of private secondary schools in Uganda. The study was conducted from ten-sampled secondary schools in Mbale District in the eastern region of Uganda. The study involved 210 respondents: ten head teachers, one hundred teachers and one hundred students. The study used self-administered questionnaires and an interview guide as the data collection instruments. A review of the relevant written documents was also done to supplement the primary data. The data collected was presented in frequency counts and score tables with varying percentages calculated. Interpretations and conclusions were made according to the number of occurrences of each item. The study findings based on research questions revealed that there is a vast assortment of financial challenges in the management of private secondary schools in Mbale district.
