The objectives were to examine students’ perceptions on paper-based examination mode, Electronic-Based examination mode and determine whether there is difference in students’ perceptions between electronic based examination mode and paper base examination mode. A sample of two hundred and twenty five (255) students was selected from the study population of 527 using proportionate sampling. The instrument of data collection was self design questionnaire. The data collected were analyzed through SPSS version 20.0 by applying descriptive statistics and paired-samples t-test, whereas data from the interview was analyzed using thematic analysis. Findings of the study revealed that students had positive perceptions with regards to electronic-based examination mode. It was also found that there was a statistically significant difference in perceptions of the students from electronic-based examination mode (M =4.65, SD = 0.32) to paper-based examination mode [M = 2.71, SD = 0.53, t(199) = 52.301, p = .000). Based on this finding, the study therefore recommended that schools should adopt electronic-based examination mode in their assessment practices. This will enable them to give immediate and timely feedback to students. It was also recommended that where electronic-based examination mode is not possible, blended assessment should be used in order to integrate technology into assessment.
