Islamic University in Uganda.http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12309/281The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception of teachers on the use of instructional materials in the teaching of science in Mbale municipality public primary schools, Uganda. Cross sectional descriptive survey designed was used for the study. Population of the study comprised of all science teachers of the 25 public primary schools. Sample was made up of 107 science teachers purposively drawn from the selected 20 primary schools. Observation schedule and questionnaire were used for data collection. Frequency and percentages were used to analyze the returned questionnaire and Pearson correlation was use to determine the relationship between teachers perception and the use of instructional materials. Findings of the study revealed although pimary school science teachers select appropriate instructional materials to teach instructional materials are not adequate in schools.
