The Effect of Head Teachers’ Professional Training on The Management of Muslim Founded Government Aided Primary Schools in Mbale District.
(Islamic Universiy In Uganda, 2009) Mafabi, Muzamir
This study investigated the effect of the head teachers’ professional training on the management of government aided primary schools in Mbale district. There were three main objectives set for the study and they included establishing the effect of head teachers’ professional training on: the management of human resources; financial management and supervision of instruction. Purposive sampling was employed on the head teachers because they had the specific data that was required by the research. Probability sampling was employed upon the teachers and members of SMC and PTA. Statistical package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used for data analysis where the frequency distributions and percentages aided the research. The findings of the study showed that there was team work, commitment to work, quality work among others. However, the study also indicated that more efforts are needed in financial management and supervision. It was therefore recommended that school administrators should organize refresher courses and also go for short term management courses, innovate new ways of supervising instruction, besides the traditional clinical supervision.
